Herded like cattle to the slaughterhouse - Watched over by OD and Marechaussee

After the big rush came the quiet - Especially with OD and Marechaussee present

In the beginning coaches were used - Lateron came the numbered cattle cars

The big question was to where and why - The answer would come soon enough

There was no uncertainty among the SS - They supervised with confidence and dogs

The OD ensured a quick embarkation - Briefly travellers found a moment to pause

For the sick a make-shift cart was used - Orderlies accompanied the sick and infirm

Hurry up and keep on moving. Time is almost up - Finally came the whistle, goodbey

They built on their own future - But could sing, "I've been working on the railroad"

The track is almost finished - What would they have done without the Marechaussee
